Antonio Conte Admits Tottenham Knocked Out Due to Own Error

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte, admits that his team was eliminated from the Europa League due to unforced errors. Tottenham lost 3-2 on aggregate to Rennes in the round of 32, after losing 2-1 in the second leg away.

In his post-match press conference, Conte said that Tottenham made too many mistakes and weren't focused enough in the match. He also emphasized that his team must learn from the defeat so as not to repeat the mistakes in the future.

Conte also highlighted the performance of some of his players who were not good enough in the match. However, he did not blame any particular individual and stressed that all players should be held responsible for the loss.

"We made too many mistakes and weren't focused in this match. We have to take responsibility for this defeat and learn from our mistakes," said Conte.

"Some players are not performing at their best level and we have to evaluate their performance. But this is the responsibility of all of us as a team," he added.

Conte also stated that Tottenham must focus on the rest of the season and try to achieve the best results in the Premier League. Despite being eliminated from the Europa League, Tottenham still have a chance of qualifying for next season's Champions League if they manage to finish in the top four of the Premier League standings.

"We have to focus on the rest of the season and try to achieve our best results in the Premier League. We still have big goals we want to achieve this season and we have to stay optimistic," concluded Conte.

The defeat to Rennes was a disappointing result for Tottenham, especially after they won the first leg 2-1. However, with Antonio Conte as the new manager, Tottenham are expected to rise and show better performance in the future.

Antonio Conte has taken over as manager of Tottenham Hotspur in November 2021, replacing Nuno Espirito Santo. Conte is known as a successful coach in Italy, where he won five Serie A titles with Juventus and Inter Milan.
